QR Code Vehicle ID
Before fuel can be dispensed, the vehicle or asset must be identified. ResTrack Lite supports three identification methods:
Manual Vehicle Selection
Manual identification allows the operator to select a vehicle directly from the list of registered assets in the mobile app.
This method requires no additional hardware and is suitable for smaller fleets or sites where operators can easily locate the correct vehicle.
Benefits
- No additional hardware required
- Simple setup and administration
- Suitable for low-volume sites
Considerations
- Relies on the operator selecting the correct vehicle
- Provides the lowest level of security
- More prone to user error than QR or Auto-ID methods
QR Code Vehicle Identification
QR code identification uses a unique QR tag attached to each vehicle or asset. During the dispensing process, the operator scans the QR code using the ResTrack Lite mobile app to identify the vehicle.
QR tags are included with ResTrack Lite controller kits and provide a quick and reliable method of vehicle identification.
Benefits
- Fast vehicle identification
- Reduces manual entry errors
- Low-cost implementation
- No specialised dispensing hardware required
Considerations
- Requires the operator to scan the QR code before dispensing
- QR tags must remain visible and undamaged
SecureFill Auto-ID
SecureFill Auto-ID automatically identifies the vehicle when the nozzle is connected to the vehicle's filling point. The system uses vehicle tags, nozzle readers, and an Auto-ID Gateway to communicate with the ResTrack Lite Controller.
SecureFill Auto-ID provides automatic vehicle recognition and is the highest-security identification method available in ResTrack Lite.
Benefits
- Automatic vehicle identification
- No QR scanning required
- Minimises operator interaction
- Highest level of dispensing security
- Reduces the risk of fuel being dispensed to the wrong asset
Considerations
- Requires SecureFill Auto-ID hardware
- Vehicle tags must be installed and registered in ResTrack Lite
- Additional installation and configuration are required
